This luscious and dreamy image of a sleeping Rapunzel is by fine artist Carmen Zambrano. It is an Ultrachrome print of original pastel illustration on archival matte paper. Pastel artist Carmen Zambrano was born in Peru and moved to the United States at the age of two. Now a resident of Connecticut she has been painting with pastels for the past twelve years. As a child, Carmen developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around us and in the worlds created in stories. It is these stories that she magically represents in her work. Zambrano received a BFA in Illustration from Western Connecticut State University. She shows her work regularly at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook. CT and has work in many private collections.
