Description
This sculptural work in exotic hardwood portrays the mythic figure Prometheus bound in chains as a powerful eagle descends with wings dramatically outstretched. Canary wood, zebrawood, and padauk create rich contrasts in color and grain, while the intricate carving brings intensity, movement, and expressive detail to the scene. Measuring 12 × 10 × 4 inches, the sculpture is mounted on a non-removable rosewood base measuring 11 × 3½ inches.
