Description
Utricularia macrorhiza, the common bladderwort, is a large, perennial suspended carnivorous plant that thrives in boggy systems. It is presented by aquatic artist and researcher Mieke Schuyler in this original botanical pressing. Floating about, its tiny bladders with smaller cilia are stimulated by the gentle movement of snuggling zooplankton. A showy yellow flower towers a few inches above the waters surface attracting pollinators in flight. The work is in a 2in American Arts and Crafts Quarter Sawn Oak Frame with Bainbridge arture archival/museum quality matte; UV conservation clear/Tru Vue glass.
